Mountain Bike Skills Coaching Weekend

Immerse yourself in a weekend of mountain biking skills coaching, Pilates and healthy eating in a supportive and fun environment. Led by qualified British Cycling coaches and guides. Hannah and Sean will guide you on a journey to harness your flow, build your confidence and tackle trail obstacles.

Under the watchful eye of British Cycling coaches we will build your skill level in the core cycling techniques as well as helping you find your flow and build upon your technical singletrack ability.

Each day our chef will cook specially prepared lunches and cakes served to you trail side, where you can admire the views. At the end of the second day relax and unwind with a Pilates class aimed at developing your cycling muscles.

If you’re looking to improve your core mountain bike skills, racing XC, Enduro, Downhill, or simply looking to make the most of your riding time, this two day mountain bike skills coaching course is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and confidence in your wheels.

This mountain bike skills course is perfect for riders with a moderate amount of mountain biking experience and a good level of general fitness who are looking to build up their confidence and ability on two wheels.

Course Content:

Saturday: Mountain bike skills coaching, using video feedback to look over your fundamentals, discussing trail features and working together to improve your ability and confidence. Then put those skills to the test with a ride around the picturesque South Downs or Surrey Hills with Maramalade MTB Guidesstopping for lunch at a view point before continuing the journey back to the cars.

Dinner (optional and not included in the price) at a local country pub and time to chat about all things biking!

Sunday: The mountain biking adventure continues with a morning of coaching on more advanced techniques and covering anything from day one that you wanted to practise. After lunch relax and unwind during Pilates aimed at developing core strength and improving your cycling posture.

After the course you will be armed with the confidence and ability to tackle larger trail obstacles as well as have improved your overall bike handling techniques.

Is this course right for me?

Please read the following description. If this sounds like you, then you’re perfect for this course:

  • You’re fairly new to mountain biking or have not been riding off-road regularly for more than two years
  • You regularly ride off-road and have ridden green, blue and perhaps red graded singletrack trails before at a trail centre
  • You have your own mountain bike
  • You are fit and healthy, able to ride for three hours comfortably on hilly terrain
  • You are aged 18 and over

Meet your team:

Hannah – Growing up in a very outdoorsy family, Hannah fell in love with cycling in her teens. It wasn’t until 2012 she decided to try her first mountain bike race and from then on has been hooked. Climbing to elite level in cross-country mountain bike racing before entering the mad world of ultra endurance events and stage races. With many miles and experiences under her wheels she started Pedal 2 Pedal as a kids club in Petersfield, from 8 children the club has grown in strength and numbers with over 40 children taking part in mountain biking and some now competing around the country.  Hannah’s goal is to help others achieve their very best on their bikes whatever their goals.

Sean – Marmalade MTB’s founder and British Cycling Level 3 mountain bike leader.
Sean’s passion for mountain biking has taken him all across the UK and the world, in search of the best trails. From his first mountain bike ride, many years ago, came an addiction to explore the great outdoors, embrace the views and revel in the flow of the trails. Combined with an appetite to lead and inspire, came the organisation of countless local and national biking trips for his friends. A handful of years later this passion saw the birth of Marmalade MTB. Now in its third year, Sean has led 100’s of mountain bikers around the South Downs, Surrey Hills and many UK destinations such as the Lake District, Brecon Beacons and the highlands of Scotland.
